'Untitled Fiction in the Age After Divinity' on display until mid-February.

The lunar new year, Tet, is fast approaching and to celebrate the Year of the Rat, Manzi Hanoi Art Gallery will present a special display called “Untitled Fiction in the Age After Divinity”, featuring works from Bang Nhat Linh, Le Quy Tong, Nguyen Manh Hung, and Nguyen Tren Nam - four important contemporary local artists.

Focusing on the visual relationship of disjointed elements and unusual scales, Nguyen Manh Hung’s series of oil paintings depict activities and events from daily life in an absurd world. Hung’s interpretations are unabashed and direct, transporting audiences to a world in which everything is made bare through his biting humor. Bang Nhat Linh - a dedicated collector of war memorabilia - continues his study into the depth of memories and history with a poetic video installation. Le Quy Tong, as usual, directs viewers to a brutal reality hidden underneath a veil of luxurious and cold color palette of his paintings. And Nguyen Tran Nam, via his installation “Like A Variant”, attempts to reveal the dark, hidden, and forgotten friction between the past and present, faith and retribution.

“Untitled Fictions in the Age After Divinity” is taking place at Manzi Hanoi, 2 Ngo Hang Bun in Hanoi, from 10am to 7pm from Tuesdays to Sundays until mid-February. Entry is free.
