Hanoi Railway introduces online 'home-to-home' shipping

New service offers different options for goods shipments.

The Hanoi Railway Transport JSC (HARACO) has launched Harapost, a new cargo transport service with “from home to home” delivery across Vietnam’s railway network.

Aimed at diversifying services to meet customer requirements, the new service receives orders from customers to transport different types of goods, from the smallest package to large shipments, in the fastest shipping time and in a safe manner.

Customers need only visit the website www.harapost.vn to book shipping online or can submit shipping orders at the registration desk at the appropriate train station. Railway staff then go to the customer’s address to take the goods for delivery by train.

Harapost also offers shipping insurance, costing 1 per cent of the goods’ value as declared by the customer. In case of damage or loss, Harapost will compensate the full declared value.

It also launched cash-on-delivery (COD) services, at a fee equal to 1 per cent of the total collected amount.

Earlier, from June 10 to August 18, HARACO offered a promotion of 7-16 per cent off tickets on certain specific routes for individuals booking ten days in advance and groups from ten to 20 days. It also supports customers with hotel bookings and arranging transport from the train station to tourist destinations.

HARACO carried some 1.8 tonnes of goods in the first half of 2019, down 12 per cent against the same period last year. It is therefore making every effort to improve its services to attract more customers, such as providing more fast and fixed container shipping, adjusting prices, and introducing new services.
