The Truong Hai Auto Corporation (Thaco) held an opening ceremony for its Thaco Da Nang Truck and Bus Center on January 28.

Located on National Highway 1A, the center will display and repair trucks and buses for customers and provide training to auto dealers in the central region.

The center has been built on a total area of 26,000 sq m, with total investment of VND142 billion ($6.3 million), and includes three showrooms displaying specialized vehicles.

Its service center on 13,600 sq m will repair chassis and vehicle electrics and supply spare parts.

Mr. Tran Ba Duong, Chairman of Thaco, told the ceremony that the purpose of the center is to maintain its leading position during regional integration and better serve customers. “During the 2016-2020 period, Thaco is implementing a strategy to build a system of truck showrooms and service centers, including Foton and Fuso truck showrooms,” he said. “This is the first center of its kind in Vietnam.”

Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Deputy Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, said the center will create more favorable conditions for socioeconomic development in the city.

Thaco is the only company involved in all types of trucks and buses, with a full range from small to large, including the brands Foton, Mitsubishi Fuso, and Thaco, and sedans such as Kia (South Korea), Mazda (Japan), Peugeot (France), and BMW (Germany).
