The Nho Que 2 Hydropower Plant, located in Meo Vac town in northern Ha Giang province, has completed a 72-hour trial run, officially generating electricity commercially and integrating into the national power grid.

The plant was invested by the Nho Que Electrical Development and Investment JSC under the Bitexco Power Corporation.

Construction began in June 2012 with total investment of approximately VND1.5 trillion ($67.2 million), in a remote mountainous area with difficult natural and socioeconomic conditions.

After more than four years of construction the 48 MW plant will be officially put into stable operations, integrate into the national grid, and ensure the security of national power supplies.

Nho Que 2 will also contribute significantly to Ha Giang province’s budget, create jobs, provide technical - economic - social infrastructure and transport infrastructure, and strengthen border defenses.

Bitexco was previously successful in running the Nho Que 3 Hydropower Plant on the Nho Que River. It now has 15 plants - an important milestone confirming its reputation and position in hydropower investments in Vietnam.
