The Embassy of Vietnam in the US has recently launched a tourism and culture website at http://tourism.vietnamembassy-usa.org/.

The launch of the website is part of the embassy’s strategy for economic and cultural diplomacy in the US, to promote Vietnamese tourism and attract 1 million American tourists in 2020 and enhance economic cooperation, trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges.

The website provides visitors with useful and reliable information on popular destinations in Vietnam and typical culture, landscapes, and cuisine as well as visa procedures.

It also provides basic information on the country’s history, culture, and people and cites articles by prestigious media agencies around the world honoring Vietnam’s top destinations together with a guide on local culture.

With pictures and videos, the website is expected to work as a fast and effective channel providing lively and beautiful images of Vietnam’s land and people and becoming a bridge connecting the US and Vietnam.

The website is among the first of its kind launched by a Vietnamese representative unit abroad and contributes to the celebration of the founding anniversary of Vietnam’s diplomatic sector, in 1945, and the 25th anniversary of the normalization of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations, Vietnamese Ambassador H.E. Ha Kim Ngoc said at the launch ceremony. It will help strengthen friendship and mutual understanding toward trust building between the two countries.

The US has always been in the top ten foreign arrivals in Vietnam, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. In 2018, Vietnam attracted more than 687,000 US visitors, an increase of 12 per cent over the previous year.
