The annual French Gastronomy Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, Balade en France Festival, will also take place the first time in Hanoi, at Ly Thai To Park on the shores of Hoan Kiem Lake on December 14 to 16.
The festival is a review event of a series of activities organized as part of celebrations of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Vietnam and the fifth anniversary of the countries’ strategic partnership, organized by the French Embassy in Vietnam, France’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and the Hanoi People’s Committee.
It aims to present to the Vietnamese public specialties and culinary masterpieces as well as French cultural and entertainment activities.
There will be 60 booths from French restaurants and famous French companies in Vietnam, bringing hundreds of quintessential French dishes to visitors in an atmosphere reminiscent of Parisian streets as Christmas approaches - lined with shops and decorated with sparkling lights.
French street arts, technology, and cosmetics will be also showcased, while a photo exhibition of images taken by former students in France and Francophiles will be held, as will workshops on theater, other arts, and football.
Artists from France and Vietnam will perform, highlighting the cultural and artistic interaction between the two countries.
There will also be games and quizzes on learning about France, with gifts up for grabs.
Around 100,000 visitors are hoped to attend.
The Balade en France Festival was organized in Ho Chi Minh City on December 1 and 2 at Hoa Lu Stadium on Dinh Tien Hoang Street, District 1.
