The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, announced on November 7 an agreement signed with the Ho Tram Project Company Limited (HTP) to rebrand The Grand Ho Tram at the Ho Tram Strip integrated resort to InterContinental Grand Ho Tram within a year after refurbishments. A newly-built Holiday Inn Resort Ho Tram Beach will also open in 2020.

The signing reinforces IHG’s growth in resort locations in Vietnam and strengthens its presence in the region.

“This signing marks a new milestone in our growth in Vietnam, as we welcome our first Holiday Inn Resort in the country and continue to expand our InterContinental brand,” said Ms. Serena Lim, Vice President, Development, for IHG South East Asia & Korea. “As international and domestic travel continues to grow, the expansion of the property and facilities puts us in a great position to provide different experiences for a diverse group of guests.”

As the first integrated resort to have opened in Vietnam, Ho Tram Strip has developed a reputation as one of Vietnam’s most popular leisure and offsite MICE locations due to its pristine beaches and short two-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City. Its accessibility also makes it an attractive getaway for both domestic and international travelers.

The rebranded InterContinental Grand Ho Tram is a 533-key luxury integrated resort with three F&B outlets, a state-of-the-art convention center that can accommodate up to 1,300 people, including a large ballroom and five meeting rooms, and outdoor pools, a gym, a spa, a golf course, and a retail space featuring a multitude of entertainment options such as restaurants, bars, lounges, clubs, and a casino gaming floor.

Holiday Inn Resort Ho Tram Beach will be a 502-key hotel with facilities geared towards family fun. Guests can enjoy their time at swimming pools and enjoy captivating views of the long coastline at the 360-degree rooftop bar. The hotel will also have direct access to facilities including a cinema, a bowling alley, a food court, and a water park.

The two properties provide a strong MICE offering comprising a variety of venues, including a convention center for meetings and events that can host up to 1,300 people, a casino for international visitors, F&B options, and entertainment activities.

Plans are underway to increase capacity to cater to larger events of up to 3,000 people, further enhancing its MICE offerings. Also situated on Ho Tram Strip is the renowned 18-hole links championship golf course, The Bluffs, designed by Greg Norman and ranked in the top 100 in the world by Golf Digest.

“We are delighted to continue our long-standing partnership with IHG with the developments on Ho Tram Strip,” said Mr. Michael Kelly, Chairman and CEO of HTP. “IHG has an impressive track record in Vietnam with a large presence and is a strong brand-fit for our properties with both InterContinental and Holiday Inn. Together, we look forward to hosting guests and delivering memorable experiences here in Ho Tram.”

IHG currently has 13 hotels in Vietnam, with more than half under the InterContinental brand, including award winning properties such as the acclaimed InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort and the InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort.
