Central Group Vietnam continues to implement a program in coordination with ministries and local authorities to support the promotion of, create added value for, and build brands for Vietnam’s agricultural products.

It is now working with the Hung Yen Provincial People’s Committee to organize the Hung Yen Longan and Agricultural Products Week at 17 Big C and GO! supermarkets in the northern region from August 9 to 15.

Big C supermarkets in the north will install eye-catching decorations to introduce Hung Yen longans to consumers.

A representative from Central Group Vietnam said the event is being held in the Big C network for the second time and reaffirms the commitment of the Group to Vietnamese goods in general. “The event also contributes to the realization of our vision, which is to contribute to the prosperity of Vietnam and to improve the quality of life of Vietnamese people,” the representative added.

Mr. Dang Ngoc Quynh, Member of Provincial Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, said that following on from the success of Hung Yen Logan Week in Hanoi in 2017 and Hung Yen Longan and Agricultural Products Week in 2018, this year, in addition to bringing Hung Yen longans to supermarket chains in Hanoi, the province again coordinates with Big C supermarket to organize the Hung Yen Longan and Agricultural Products Week 2019. “The event aims to promote and introduce Hung Yen longans to domestic and international friends and directly serve consumers in Hanoi, who have bought Hung Yen longans over the years,” he added.

The promotion in 2018 saw 2,743 tons sent to businesses, exporters, and large supermarket chains such as Big C, Fivimart, and Vinmart. Hung Yen province has also sent longans to major markets such as China, the US, Japan, and Australia. The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, has signed a cooperation agreement with Hung Yen to introduce the longans on its flights, helping to promote Hung Yen longans among international friends on international flights.
