GOLDEN DRAGON AWARDS 2016

Vietnam’s growth prospects remain high thanks to foreign direct investment (FDI) standing at record levels and a strong domestic platform, even though economic activities slowed in 2016. The country attracted a record $24.3 billion in FDI in 2016, with strong inflows going to the manufacturing and processing sector, a key driver of the country’s economic growth. The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) taking effect in 2016 and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) perhaps coming into being this year create significant opportunities for the country to further attract FDI, especially from ASEAN countries and other RCEP member countries.

Foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs) have taken the lead in tapping the opportunities brought about by Vietnam’s greater presence in the global marketplace. To recognize the efforts of FIEs in Vietnam, Vietnam Economic Times will hold the 16th Golden Dragon Awards in March.

With the theme “Efficient Business Production Associated with Environmental Protection” and attended by CEOs from domestic and foreign enterprises, the Awards, as always, will be one of the largest annual events organized by VET. The program will acknowledge the contribution of FIEs in Vietnam and honor enterprises winning an Award for each of the 16 years they have been presented.

VET will also organize a range of activities, including:

A press conference introducing the 16th Golden Dragon Awards.

A CEO Forum entitled “Efficient Business Production Associated with Environmental Protection”. Representatives from the government, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the

Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and CEOs from 400 FIEs and leading local companies in Vietnam are expected to attend.

A Gala Dinner to celebrate the winners of the 16th Golden Dragon Awards and the Vietnam Strong Brand Awards 2016.

An Awards ceremony to honor the contributions made by winners to Vietnam’s economy and society, to be held in Hanoi in March and be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV).

An exhibition of the achievements of winning FIEs.

Other media activities will be conducted in Thoi bao Kinh te Viet Nam, Vietnam Economic Times, The Guide, VnEconomictimes.vn, VnEconomy.vn, and Tu van Tieu & Dung, as well as in supporting media.
