The 28th Vietnam Expo, or Vietnam Expo 2018, with the theme “Enhancing Regional and Global Economic Links”, will be held from April 11-14 at the National Exhibition Center (ICE), 91 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

Products, technologies and services from 450 enterprises from Vietnam and 23 other countries and territories, including Russia, South Korea, China, Nepal, Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Cuba, Laos, Cambodia, Mongolia, Taiwan and Hong Kong, will be on show.

Russia is guest of honor. Bilateral economic cooperation between the two was a highlight last year, as they agreed to accelerate the implementation of the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (VN-EAEU FTA), of which Russia is a founding member. The FTA is regarded as an important basis for Vietnam and Russia to lift two-way trade to $10 billion by 2020. With Russia as guest of honor, Vietnam Expo 2018 will be a significant event and an effective way for both countries to increase trade promotions. With an area of 520 sq m at the expo, Russian companies will present major products such as mechanical processing equipment, precision machinery, automation equipment, industrial biotechnology, and high-tech electronics.

There will be a well-installed and prominent Russian National Pavilion at the exhibition, where leading companies from the country will showcase their key products. The VIST Group is one such company, providing IT solutions and applications for the mining, metallurgical, electrical, scientific and telecommunications sectors, and leads in the deployment of fleet management systems and control systems in Russia and other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, as well as Mongolia. “We will introduce software systems in mining, metallurgy, electricity, science and telecommunications that help address complex mining issues in Russia, Africa, and South America,” said Ms. Tatiana Khamanova, VIST’s Marketing Director. “We hope to meet with local companies.”

Russia’s Sinara Transport Machines JSC (STM), meanwhile, is a market leader in manufacturing electric locomotives and diesel engines, as well as vehicle maintenance and engines. It will provide consultancy at the expo on building operating systems and make recommendations on the operation of the next generation of rail transport systems.

Power Machines is Russia’s largest energy company, ranking fourth globally in the field of manufacturing and supplying equipment for thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, hydroelectric plants, and turbines, and has exported its products to 57 countries in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and CIS countries. This is the first time Power Machines has introduced its products in Vietnam, and Vietnam Expo 2018 will provide a good opportunity for local enterprises to partner with the company.

Two leading pharmaceutical corporations from Russia - Sintez and Nacimbio - are also seeking market opportunities in Vietnam.

There will be a series of events at the expo, many of which are being co-organized by Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Russian Export Center, such as a plenary session on “Strategies for Developing the Vietnam-Russia Partnership in Economics and Trade”, a roundtable discussion on “Vietnam - Russia Cooperation Prospects in Industry and Energy”, a roundtable on “Digital Technology and IT”, a workshop on “Financial and Non-financial Measures for Exporters”, a workshop on “Certification of Health, Food and Agricultural Products in Vietnam”, and workshop on “Specific Aspects of Vietnam’s Market Entry”.

Present at the expo will be “Vietnam Value” enterprises, prominent brands, startups, and regional agricultural enterprises. Among them are the outstanding Hapro Corporation, the Hanoi Beverage Company (Habeco), Binh Minh Plastics, Duy Tan Plastics, Dien Quang Lamps, and the OPC Pharmaceuticals Company.

At the same time, the Pavilion for Investment and Industrial Development Promotion of Vietnam, organized by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Department, will provide the latest information on the investment environment. It will introduce potential advantages and policies on investment, commitments by local authorities, and investment opportunities in six cities and provinces: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Yen Bai, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa and Dong Thap.

The organizer has continuously nurtured relationships with local and international trade promotion agencies for more than 27 years with aim of providing information and arranging working visit by business delegations to the expo.
