The Huu Nghi international passenger cargo road was officially opened on September 11, facilitating trade in goods between Vietnam and China.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and representatives from the two provinces of Lang Son (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China).

The new road is a milestone that confirms the level of economic and trade cooperation between the two provinces and contributes to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, creating an important premise for businesses to strengthen foreign trade relations and growth in trade between Vietnam, China and ASEAN countries.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Truong, Deputy Chairman of the Lang Son Provincial People’s Committee, suggested that relevant agencies on both sides bolster the management and operations of the road to provide practical benefits.

Trade between Vietnam and its ten largest markets stood at $176.09 billion in the first half of this year and accounted for 88.8 per cent of the total. China remained its largest trade partner, with $39.8 billion, or 20.1 per cent.
