Creativity is a vital element for every business during this era of Industry 4.0 and requires immediate action, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue told the CEO Forum 2019, entitled “Businesses Revitalization and Innovation: Breakthroughs from Mind to Action” and held on April 5 at the JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi by Vietnam Economic Times in the lead-up to the Golden Dragon Awards ceremony.

The Forum was attended by Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Kim Anh, and many other government leaders, together with representatives from embassies and CEOs of local and foreign enterprises in Vietnam.

“Innovation is the shortest way for countries and enterprises to approach and catch up with the trend towards digital transformation,” Deputy Prime Minister Hue said. “It cannot slow down. Enterprises must define innovation and creativity as a driving force and optimal solution in enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises in the context of international economic integration becoming increasingly deep and comprehensive.”

The two panel discussions at the Forum focused on innovation and creation stories from around the world, analyzing inevitable trends and the value of innovation and creativity in the growth and development of economies and the competitiveness of enterprises.

Addresses by representatives from the ANA Vietnam Group, the Tibco Software Group, FPT Software, TH True Milk, TVP, and OCB Bank showed that innovation and innovation are attracting greater attention from enterprises. Innovation, creation, and digital transformation in management models and corporate governance or upgrading or replacing production technologies have created value in the growth and development indexes at enterprises.

“I believe that innovation and creation are among the key factors for a country,” Mr. Anup Kumar Dave, General Director of Kirby Southeast Asia, told VET. “Vietnam must guarantee issues such as productivity, human resources skills, and other resources. It should have two things - transparency and skills development. The best thing is to have skilled human resources developed in the country, not brought in from outside, which adds to development. At Kirby, we heavily focus on skills development, recruiting people from college and training them to the required skilled level as they need to raise their skills to deliver. We have invested a great deal in our people.”

This is convincing evidence for small and medium-sized enterprises to better understand the role and value of innovation and creation, thereby promoting stronger innovation and creation and contributing to improving indexes in international rankings.
