General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President Nguyen Phu Trong held talks with US President Donald Trump on February 27, on the occasion of the second US-DPRK Summit in Hanoi.

The two leaders also witnessed the signing of several agreements following their talks. Bamboo Airways agreed to purchase ten 787 Dreamliner aircraft from Boeing while Vietjet signed a deal for 100 new Boeing aircraft worth $12.7 billion.

President Trump arrived at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport late on February 26 for his second summit with the Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un, who arrived in Vietnam earlier the same day.

This is the second time President Trump has come to Vietnam. In November 2017, he paid an official visit and attended the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the central city of Da Nang.
