2017 APEC Economic Leaders' Week underway

State President Tran Dai Quang to host key events within the Week's framework.

The 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week (AELW), with the theme “Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future”, opened on November 6 in the central city of Da Nang and will wrap up on November 11.

State President Tran Dai Quang will host key events, including the 25th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM), the AELM Gala Dinner and Cultural Performance, the ABAC Dialogue with APEC Economic Leaders, and the APEC - ASEAN Informal Dialogue on November 10 and 11.

President Quang will also deliver a keynote address at the APEC CEO Summit from November 8 to 10.

The Vietnam Business Summit will be held on November 7, which Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is expected to attend and deliver a keynote address.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh and Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh will chair the 29th APEC Ministerial Meeting on November 8.

The 2017 APEC SOM Chair, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, will chair the APEC Concluding Senior Officials’ Meeting on November 6 and 7.

The ABAC Meeting is to be held from November 4 to 6 and APEC Voices of the Future from November 6 to 10.

The 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week is expected to gather together 12,000-14,000 delegates from APEC’s 21 member economies and around 3.000 representatives of media agencies in the region.
