The Yellow Ochna Festival will be held from February 16 to 25 (the first to the tenth day of the lunar new year) at Sun World Danang Wonders in the central city of Da Nang, to create a festive atmosphere for local people and tourists during Tet.

A design of swallows and roads lined with beautiful ochna, a symbolic flower of spring and Tet in Vietnam’s central and southern regions, will give the city a yellow hue.

There are also artistic performances such as lion dances, a circus, Asian music, and traditional Vietnamese games for Tet.

Different parts of Sun World Danang Wonder will exhibit the typical features of Asian countries during the lunar new year, such as giant “banh chung” and “banh tet” (traditional sticky cakes for Tet) from Vietnam and blooming cherry and lanterns from Japan, as well as traditional costumes from regional countries.

Kids can also enjoy small gifts of colorful balloons and “to he”, a traditional toy for Vietnamese kids made from glutinous rice powder in the form of edible figurine such as animals, flowers, or characters from folk tales.

Entry is VND300,000 ($13) for adults and VND200,000 ($8.8) for children under 1.3 meters tall, while children under 1.3 meter tall enter for free.

Encompassing a site of nearly 900,000 sq m on the west bank of the Han River, Sun World Danang Wonders, also known as Asia Park, boasts several unique features and combines world renowned entertainment with a distinctively East Asian flair. It consists of three main areas, including an amusement park with modern rides, attractions, and shows, a cultural park presenting the cultures of ten countries and traditional architecture and horticulture, and a central zone that is an interface between modern and traditional features. Anchoring the area between the two parks is the 115-meter tall Sun Wheel, which is surrounded by lavish gardens.

Sun World Danang Wonders is owned by the Sun Group, one of the largest real estate groups in Vietnam and the biggest investor in Da Nang, with dozens of projects in hotels, resorts, amusement parks, and urban areas, including the InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort, the Novotel Da Nang Premier Han River, and Ba Na Hills Da Nang. It provides more entertainment and service offerings to improve Da Nang’s profile among tourists.
