Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) and the Toyota Vietnam Foundation (TVF), in cooperation with the TMV Trade Union and TMV dealers, have donated funds of VND826 million ($360,000) to support Lai Chau and Ha Giang provinces - two northern mountainous provinces severely damaged by floods and landslides at the end of June.

“With a desire to be a good citizen in the local community, Toyota Vietnam has continuously implemented social contribution activities in many fields, in which charitable activities supporting local people in provinces badly affected by natural disasters are paid great attention,” Ms. Do Thu Hoang, TMV’s Vice President and TVF’s Chairman, told a ceremony for handing over the donations. “Through this support, we hope to partly support people in overcoming the difficulties and stabilize their lives and production.”

Downpours on June 24 and 25 caused flash floods and landslides in the northern mountainous region, with Lai Chau and Ha Giang being hardest hit. In order to share the difficulties and losses and help people overcome the consequences, TMV, TVF, the TMV Trade Union and TMV dealers (including Toyota Long Bien, Toyota Giai Phong , Toyota My Dinh, Toyota Thanh Xuan, Toyota Nankai Hai Phong, Toyota Da Nang, Toyota Buon Ma Thuot, Toyota Binh Duong, Toyota Ninh Kieu and Toyota Can Tho), contributed to the donations.

Over the past 22 years in Vietnam, with the values of durability, reliability and excellent after-sales service, TMV’s vehicles have been loved by Vietnamese people. With the development of the company, TMV strives to actively contribute to the development of local society, with a total contribution of over $24 million, of which more than $168,000 was in donations.
