Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) has officially started a training camp for Toyota Junior Football 2019, with 32 excellent young footballers selected from more than 2,000 children from all over the country.

After selection rounds in Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Binh Duong and Nghe An provinces, 32 of the best young players are now taking part in the training camp from July 15 to 21 at the training center of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in Hanoi.

The young players will be trained and guided by the Head Coach - former famous football player Pham Nhu Thuan - as well as professional football coaches. They will take lessons on football, both theory and practice, in the grass stadium. Special lessons not only include personal techniques such as flexibility, ball sense, observation skills, balance, and confidence, but also teamwork tactics and the spirit of fair play. The 32 players will play in a friendly match, where the coaches will evaluate their teamwork skills in attack as well as their tackling skills.

Apart from training sessions, the players will also participate in entertaining and relaxing activities such as visiting famous places in Hanoi and playing games with footballs. Through these they will have the chance to enhance their knowledge, blend into new environments, and discover themselves.

Representative from the Japanese Embassy will also visit to give them souvenirs and encourage them to be more confident. After the training camp, the 18 best players will be selected to play a friendly in Japan in August.

The Toyota Junior Football program was first initiated by Toyota Motor Asia Pacific (TMAP) in Thailand in 2013 and TMV has been implementing it in Vietnam since 2015. The program’s purpose is to identify and train young football talent from nine to 12 years old and nurture their passion and love for football. TMV hopes to continue inspiring and supporting Vietnamese kids to keep following their passion and is dedicated to the development of football in the country and the region.
