The Australian Embassy and Consulate-General in Vietnam have launched the third Taste of Australia program, which will take place during April as part of celebrations for the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Vietnam this year.

Diverse cuisine events will be held around Vietnam during the month, primarily in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Nha Trang, including Australian community BBQs, industry galas, NOSH Supperclub Dinners, an Epic Aussie Brunch, an Australian food and wine show, and the Taste of Australia Culinary Competition.

This year is the first Taste of Australia to also feature Australian music, including a one-of-a-kind music and wine pairing on April 3 in Ho Chi Minh City with Australian classical pianist Van-Anh Nguyen, a performance by Australian singer-songwriter Nick Barker at the Taste of Australia Danang Community BBQ on April 22, and an appearance by Australian superstar Deni Hines at this year’s Hue Festival. “Adding music to our 2018 program expands the concept of ‘taste’ to create a unique opportunity to hear fantastic Australian music while eating delicious high-quality Australian food,” said Ambassador H.E. Craig Chittick.

Taste of Australia is a Vietnam-wide celebration of Australian food, beverages and culinary culture as well as innovative fashion and design, supported by the Australian Government and industry and business partners, and led by the Taste of Australia Ambassador, Australian celebrity chef Luke Nguyen. It aims to promote Australian cuisine, culture and design to Vietnamese industry and consumers through a range of business, trade and public events, share Australia’s vibrant culinary culture, world-class culinary education, and innovative agricultural expertise with the Vietnamese market, and reinforce Australia’s international reputation as a supplier of food and beverages that are high quality, safe and sustainable.
