SCG, a leading Thai conglomerate in the ASEAN region, recently worked with the Hanoi Football Club to hold the “Kick & Share by SCG” football skills program in southern Ba Ria Vung Tau province, the location of SCG’s strategic Long Son Petrochemical Complex project.

The program was endorsed by the Ba Ria Vung Tau Department of Sports, Culture and Tourism and its Youth Union, with 160 students, including disabled children, from Grade 4 to 8 taking part in the one-day football clinic with Hanoi FC’s leading stars, some of whom play for the national team.

“As a continuation of the company’s commitment, ‘Kick and Share by SCG’ is an initiative to develop football skills among local children,” said Mr. Booneuame Noiaim, Deputy Director of Long Son Petrochemicals (LSP). “SCG joins Hanoi FC in bringing professional coaches and national team members to train children in Ba Ria Vung Tau, which will not only help enhance their skills but also inspire their passion for football and sports. This is also part of our effort to introduce healthier lifestyles.”

“We believe that children who are passionate about football and have good football skills can reach further and become professional players. It could be their future career. We therefore brought this program to develop footballing skills and prepare the next generation of great players.”

“As a partner of SCG, Hanoi FC is proud to be part of its visionary strategy of inspiring young people to fulfill their dreams,” said Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi, Chairman of Hanoi FC. “The club also creates opportunities for youngsters outside of Hanoi to become footballers in the future, if they have potential and train hard.”

SCG believes that sports are healthy and wants to support children to grow up and have a healthy lifestyle. The “Kick and Share by SCG” program develops basic football skills and inspires children to play football for exercise. It’s part of its CSR activities and in line with its vision of bringing better lives to Vietnamese people.

In 2016, SCG worked with SCG Muangthong United, a leading club in Thailand, to bring “Kick & Share by SCG” to kids in Ho Chi Minh City.

In Vietnam, SCG is focusing on creating better living through sports and education. Besides being the main sponsor of Hanoi FC, it also supports badminton development through “Sports Science” for young players.

Its flagship scholarship program, “SCG Sharing the Dream”, has just celebrated its tenth anniversary, with nearly 4,000 students fulfilling their dreams after receiving a scholarship. Other initiatives such as the Sharing the Dream Playground at Hoang Van Thu Park in Ho Chi Minh City and SCG International Internships are also having a major impact on different communities in Vietnam.
