SCG has donated $43,000 in scholarship funds to the Study Encouragement Association of Ba Ria Vung Tau province to provide education support to local students with good ethics and outstanding academic performance in the southern province.

“Human development is the core in SCG’s corporate social responsibility programs,” said Mr. Dhep Vongvanich, Vietnam Executive Country Director of SCG. “We believe that education has the power to create a better future as it builds on human quality. Thus, besides SCG’s Sharing the Dream scholarship, this is another project to support Vietnamese children in education.”

Mr. Vongvanich also emphasized the importance of Ba Ria Vung Tau as a strategic location of SCG’s flagship project - Long Son Petrochemicals. Hence, SCG has been working closely with local authorities on continuing to support local communities with various projects, including the renovation of the Ba Ria Vung Tau School for Disabled Children, the handover of public playgrounds for Long Son 1 & 2 Primary Schools, and the sponsorship of the Ba Ria Vung Tau football club. The programs represent the continuous efforts of SCG to support human development in the province.

“With our passion to create a better future for Ba Ria Vung Tau in particular and Vietnam in general, SCG will continue to support more education opportunities for young talent in need,” he added.

Similarly, SCG in May organized its annual International Children’s Day celebrations for 257 students at the Ba Ria Vung Tau School for Disabled Children. The event, which has been held for eight consecutive years in the province, aims to support the development of disabled children by offering them various life experiences.
