Savills Vietnam recently hosted a specially designed training course for Blue Dragon tertiary scholars that provided them with essential professional skills.

The training program consisted of theoretical and practical aspects including career advice from a Savills representative and team-building activities in both Hanoi and Da Nang.

Students learned about professional communication skills and information related to obtaining employment. Additionally, participants received guidance and advice on how to write a CV and answer interview questions. These essential skills will give students the confidence to enter the competitive job market.

The training course offered key employment skills for all industries with a focus on the real estate segment. Savills Vietnam also provided information on internships and career opportunities that are available in the real estate industry.

Savills Vietnam has been collaborating with Blue Dragon since 2013 through its various charity activities which have included financial and resource support.

In May 2018, Savills Vietnam funded the Blue Dragon Tertiary Student Support Program. The program provided ten scholarships to students in need and it covered tuition fees and living allowances.

Since 2003, Blue Dragon has become a powerful force when it comes to changing the streets of Vietnam, both in its bustling cities and in its rural areas where poverty is widespread. Blue Dragon offers poor children and families the chance to turn their lives around and provides practical solutions to the daily problems that keep poverty alive.

For children in Vietnam who are born into poverty, there is little hope for the chance of a better life. More than 66 per cent of the population lives in rural areas, where rice farming is the major industry and families earn as little as $1 - $2 a day. Children growing up in extreme poverty often have no choice but to quit school and move far from home, exposing them to dangers such as trafficking, homelessness, sexual exploitation, drug abuse, and illness.

Blue Dragon believes that every child deserves exceptional care so they can grow and flourish. Their services are holistic and include rescue and crisis care for young people in immediate danger, shelter, legal advocacy, and long-term support to return to school. By taking care of each child’s immediate needs, they're also investing in community development and long-term change.
