Special performance will allow Vietnamese audiences to discover the history and style of French ballet.

by Thien Huong

Paris Ballet par VP Bank will take place for one night only on June 11 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, with the patronage of the French Embassy and the French Institute in Vietnam.

The stage will gather celebrities and premier dancers from Ballet de l’Opera de Paris (the Ballet of the National Theatre of Paris). Celebrities include those who have crossed the border of France and become well-known in the ballet community around the world: Agnès Letestu - “Famous Lady of the Opéra of Paris”, and “French girl” - Mathilde Froustey, or Alice Renavand - who has “haunting beauty”.

Paris Ballet par VP has been choreographed for Vietnamese audiences, with excerpts from the nine most typical ballets of the French romantic classic and contemporary styles (Carmen, Don Quixote, Giselle, Nutcracker, In the Night, The Paradise Kids, I Do Not Regret Anything, The Interrupting Beats of the Heart, and Le Parc).

Art Director Frédéric Fontan said he has built up the content of the performance in Hanoi as a “journey” for the Vietnamese audience to discover traits about the history and style of French ballet through its long-lasting journey.

Based on the music of Fauré, Adam, Bizet, and Tchaikovsky, the talented ballet dancers will revive love stories through passionate performances. Paris Ballet par VP Bank is also graced by the magic fingers of Henri Barda - a well-known French pianist and the National Symphony Orchestra of Vietnam under the baton of Tetsuji Honna will also contribute to honoring the greatest art of Paris Ballet par VP Bank.

Mr. Tran Tuan Viet, Director of the Center of Communications and Marketing at VPBank and Head of the Organization Department, said that VP Bank has strived to bring a prosperous life to the community both physically and spiritually. After performances by many musical legends such as Richard Clayderman and Kenny G, Vietnamese audiences now have their first chance to enjoy ballet presented by leading names in contemporary French ballet.

This is also a special gift for VP Bank customers, he added. Paris Ballet par VPBank, an authentic ballet program from France, will be an unforgettable experience for the Vietnamese audience.
