The academy, which is based in southern Ba Ria in Vung Tau province around 100km from Ho Chi Minh City, aims to nurture good football players so that Vietnam will be capable of participating in international tournaments.

Along with professional training, the academy will provide students with nutritional care and lessons on culture, foreign languages, and life skills. It will also help promote football coaching at a grassroots level in schools and in the community.

The academy will take a nationwide enrollment program trip around the country on August 10-19 to select its first students. Kids born from 2006 to 2009 are the main focus of the academy. The ones chosen will be trained for seven years.

Mr Gianluca Settanni, head coach of the global Juventus Academy, is coming to Vietnam to select students with the help of Vietnamese former coaches and former famous players such as former coach Le Thuy Hai, former head coach of Vietnam’s national team Nguyen Huu Thang, former player Nguyen Hong Son, head coach of the U20 team Dinh Hong Vinh, and former Sai Gon coach Phan Van Tai Em

The selection will start in Ba Ria, Vung Tau on August 10. It will continue in HCMC on August 11 and 12, Can Tho province on August 13, Da Nang on August 15, Hanoi on August 17, and end in Ha Tinh province on August 19.

A number of football academies have already been set up in Vietnam such as Hoang Anh Gia Lai-Arsenal JMG Academy, Fund of Vietnamese Football Talents Football Club (PVF), and Viettel Football Academy. Juventus' academy will be the first international football school in Vietnam.

The U23 team, for the first time, were runners-up in the Asia Cup earlier this year. It's the highest achievement in Vietnam's football history. Now football fans in Vietnam have high expectations for the team for the near future. In fact, Vietnam's chances of joining the World Cup have increased now that the tournament will start with 48 teams instead of 32 starting in 2026.

Nicknamed the Old Lady, Juventus has won 34 official titles, including 13 Coppa Italia titles, seven national Super Cups titles, two Intercontinental Cups, two European Cups/UEFA Champions Leagues, one European Cup Winners’ Cup, and a national record of three UEFA Cups, two UEFA Super Cups and one UEFA Intertoto Cup.

The club is now where newly recruited superstar Cristiano Ronaldo plays. In the past, the club was home to world-famous players such as Michel Platini, Roberto Baggio, Zinédine Zidane, Pavel Nedved, Fabio Cannavaro, Alessandro Del Piero, Gianluigi Buffon, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
