Indian Embassy in Vietnam launches Indian cultural center in capital.

The Indian Embassy in Vietnam has launched an Indian cultural center in Hanoi as part of activities marking the two countries’ 45 years of diplomatic ties (1972-2017) and ten years of a strategic partnership (2007-2017).

Speaking at the launch, Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Vijay Kumar Singh expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese Government and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their assistance in opening the center.

He said the opening is proof of the growing Vietnam - India ties, which he described as dating back more than 2,000 years, when Indian monks travelled to Vietnam to promote Buddhism. The cultural center will contribute to the preservation and promotion of heritage and values cherished by both nations, he added.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Khanh Hai said the center affirms the effective cultural cooperation between Vietnam and India and contributes to strengthening the bilateral friendship and strategic partnership.

It will help introduce Indian culture, such as traditional music and dance, arts, and yoga, to Vietnamese people and boost cultural exchanges and tourism.
