The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has launched the 2018 ASEAN Youth Instagram Photo Contest. To be held in conjunction with the 2018 Annual Meetings taking place in Bali, Indonesia, on October 10-14, the contest seeks photos from young photographers of all abilities capturing the realities, challenges, and interesting stories that showcase how ASEAN countries are reducing inequality and combating climate change.

The contest is open to citizens from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Open to those aged 18-30, submissions are accepted until March 31. Images must be original and taken personally by the photographer, not previously published, and showcase how their country is reducing inequality or combating climate change. Contestants can submit as many photos as they wish.

Winners will be based on originality, technical excellence, and artistic merit. Two winners will be announced on April 20 on the www.voyagetoindonesia.com website and will receive a three-day trip to Bali to attend the Annual Meetings. Full details can be found at http://www.voyagetoindonesia.com/.

The Annual Meetings in Bali are an opportunity for Indonesia and Asia to reaffirm their importance and influence on the global stage. Indonesia is an emerging powerhouse in Asia, with increasing global influence as one of the next largest emerging markets in the world.

The 2018 Annual Meetings will bring together central bankers, ministers of finance, academics, private sector executives, parliamentarians, representatives from civil society organizations, and the media. The various events give participants the opportunity to discuss issues of global concern, including the economic outlook, financial stability, jobs, growth, poverty eradication, development, and aid effectiveness.
