The Monsoon Music Festival will be held over three days, from November 1 to 3, at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi.

The festival was first held in the capital in 2014 and has become a popular treat for music lovers as fall becomes winter. With the motto “Monsoon by you and for you”, the festival is of international standard and considered a cultural symbol of Hanoi.

This year it again brings audience members a rich, colorful music menu, with a convergence of local and international artists: Tien Tien and his “hits” in the Vpop music world, Vu.x Skylines Beyond, Lu.Tre.Chau, German-Vietnamese singer Vinh Khuat, who “stormed” social media networks, and American-Vietnamese singer Viet Xinh Xo. Fans also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the sounds of famous global acts such as Hyukoh (South Korea), Robert Rich (the US), Mariyah (Denmark), and Totemo (Israel).

Also on the billing is Irish pop-rock band Kodaline, who visit Vietnam for the first time. The band is familiar to local people through a number of songs on soundtracks, such as Love Roise and The Fault in Our Stars. Kodaline became legendary with the song “All I Want”, which has recorded more than 46 million views on YouTube.

Organizers said that this year’s Monsoon Festival will have a mini-stage for those in the audience to perform with professional artists in the afternoon on the day of the main event, promising to create a festive spirit.

For the first time, there will also be a music seminar with the theme “Specializing in organizing art events in Vietnam”, held on the eve of the festival, October 31. This is a continuation of and successor to the project “Dialogue between managers and cultural policy makers” funded by the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam from 2011-2015 in organizing workshops to expand the reference framework in designing and implementing cultural and artistic policy in Vietnam.

The seminar is also an opportunity for experts to discuss the direction of music and cultural development and the influence of art and culture in business and branding. It is being organized by Embassy of Denmark in cooperation with the Department of International Cooperation, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Thanh Viet Production Company.
