The Japanese Summer Festival will take place on July 7 and 8 at Sakura Station, 2nd Floor, Tower B, Thang Long Number 1 Building, 1 Khuat Duy Tien Street, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi.

Imbued by the culture of Japan, the festival offers the chance for visitors to experience activities such as writing wishes hung on bamboo (one the most popular customs of the Summer Tanabata Festival), dressing in a traditional Japanese kimono, playing Japanese folk games like yoyos, kendama (a variant of the classic cup-and-ball game), and wanage (ring tossing - a popular game at summer festivals).

Japanese cuisine such as sushi and sashimi will also be available.

Visitors can also take in Japanese artistic performances such as traditional yosakoi dance, ahoodori, another type of dance popular at summer festivals, samisen music from the three-stringed traditional Japanese musical instrument, Japanese hip-hop, and a concert featuring famous songs from anime.

They can also attend classes on making handmade natural cosmetics, which are a popular Japanese product in Vietnam.

Entry is free.
