The eighth edition of the Hanoi Gift Show will take place from October 17 to 20 at the National Exhibition Construction Center in the capital’s Nam Tu Liem district.

Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, and the Hanoi People’s Committee, the fair will feature 650 booths of some 250 domestic and foreign enterprises and handicraft producers.

A wide range of products with contemporary designs from Vietnam and elsewhere made from rattan, bamboo, pottery, textiles, and wood, among others, will be showcased at the fair. Also included is a zone for the display of products made with artistic creativity, exquisite design, and superb workmanship.

There will be an international seminar discussing the sustainable development of handicrafts on the back of Vietnam signing the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), attracting domestic and foreign speakers and attended by domestic and foreign experts providing information on world handicraft trends.

Moreover, a “Match and Meet” event is expected to attract 1,000 handicraft importers and suppliers, joining together to negotiate contracts and helping importers find business with appropriate products.

In order to create the best conditions for importers to directly access sources of goods, the Organizing Committee will also provide trips for businesses to visit craft villages on Hanoi’s outskirts.

The event will again open up opportunities to offer traditional handicrafts from Vietnam in general and from Hanoi in particular to international clients and promote the export and sustainable development of Hanoi’s handicraft industry, according to the Department of Industry and Trade.

The fair is expected to welcome 10,000 visitors.

Vietnam is a large and reliable supplier of home décor and gifts, with over 2,000 craft villages nationwide. Starting in 2012, the Hanoi Gift Show is an annual event held in October to create the best opportunities for Vietnamese handicraft, home décor, and gift companies to meet and establish contacts and strike up relationships with potential national and international buyers.
