The Halong - World Circus Festival Week 2019, themed “New chapter for a wonder”, will be held from November 11 to 17 in northern Quang Ninh province. This first international circus event kicks off an annual world circus festival series in Quang Ninh aiming to showcase culture for local people and tourists.

The festival includes a circus street parade; a circus performance competition; an opening ceremony broadcast live on VTV1 and other provincial channels; a fantastic gala night publicly displaying marvelous circus performances, with the participation of Son Tung M-TP, the most well-known star in Vietnamese pop music today; and a seminar entitled “Circus with potential tourism development”. The festival is expected to feature more than 100 performers from 20 countries and territories, including the US, the UK, Canada, Italy, Mongolia, Cuba, Ethiopia, Moldova, Brazil, Germany, Tajikistan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Laos, Egypt, Japan, Mexico, Chile, Slovakia, Ukraine, Cambodia, and the host country, Vietnam. The panel of judges includes seven legendary circus experts from Vietnam and the world.

On the sidelines of the festival will be the “International Cuisine Festival - Halong 2019”, comprising nearly 100 booths serving traditional Vietnamese specialties and international cuisine, with the presence of Ms. Bao Anh - a famous singer with millions of followers, and the “Exhibition introducing OCOP and village products” comprising nearly 200 stalls.

The Halong - World Circus Festival Week 2019 is a great opportunity for the opening of a new chapter in development of MICE tourism in Quang Ninh and strongly promoting cooperation between the provincial government and large corporations like Times Garden Vietnam in hosting international cultural events”, said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Director of the Quang Ninh Department of Culture and Sports.
