YouTube FanFest Vietnam 2017 was held on August 26 at the GEM Center in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring many YouTube superstars from around the world, such as Madilyn Bailey, Kurt Hugo Schneider, Sam Tsui, and Jannine Weigel, together with many YouTube idols from Vietnam.

The first YouTube FanFest in the country was held in association with Samsung Soundbar, Vietjet Air, and Yomost.

Mr. Nitin Gajria, Google Country Manager for Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, said that Vietnam's music scene is growing rapidly and catching up with global music trends. A great deal of talent has been discovered and become famous via YouTube, thanks to their unique creativity. “YouTube FanFest Vietnam 2017 was held to give Vietnamese fans the opportunity to meet their idols from the small screen in the real world,” he said “We celebrated YouTube idols for their accomplishments and gave their fans a memorable time.”

YouTube has given a platform to talented performers from all around the world since its inception in 2005, allowing them to share their talent and connect with like-minded artists and fans. Internet users have also been exposed to new ideas and new perspectives in music culture.

The first YouTube FanFest was held in Singapore in 2014 and similar events have since been held in India, Canada, Thailand, the Philippines, South Korea, Australia, Indonesia, and Brazil, attracting thousands of fans and becoming one of the most anticipated events for YouTube creators and their fans.

Many young people are currently earning thousands of dollars a month just by uploading video clips on YouTube. Analysts said that watching videos online has become a habit among many Vietnamese, leading to the establishment of a community of people developing content for the channel.

After becoming a YouTube Partner, videos can become an effective means of earning money, as ads are automatically inserted and pay $1 per 1,000 viewers.

A representative from the Ho Chi Minh City-based Digital Marketing DGM, which trains people in how to make money from YouTube, said it is not difficult for those who have knowledge and passion to earn an income.
