Leading beverage producer signs strategic partnership with VFF to support national football teams.

Coca-Cola Vietnam announced on April 11 it had formed a partnership with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) at a signing ceremony attended by representatives of both sides, US Ambassador in Vietnam H.E. Daniel Kritenbrink, Mr. Park Hang-seo, Head Coach of the national men’s football team, national team players, and the national under-23 men’s football team.

Coca-Cola Vietnam will be an official partner of the VFF in the 2018-2019 period, accompanying and providing support to the national teams as they conquer new heights, with the greatest being qualification for the FIFA World Cup in the not-too-distant future.

Unlike other sports, football ignites national pride and helps connect millions of hearts in Vietnam. Feats at international tournaments exhibit the country’s fast-growing football scene, which is full of inspiration and ready to face greater challenges. Fans demonstrate their undying love for and have invested their faith in the national teams.

As an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup since 1978, Coca-Cola shares a desire with the VFF and the national teams to conquer new heights at FIFA championships through this partnership and fascinating public activities to be held during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in June and July.

“The national teams’ recent achievements have been a breath of fresh air, exciting fans and elevating the football spirit,” said Mr. Le Hoai Anh, VFF’s General Secretary. “In the near future, VFF is committed to making greater plans come true, including FIFA World Cup qualification. With this partnership and support from Coca-Cola, we are increasingly positive and competent in seeing our teams reach new levels of success.”

Coco-Cola will provide funding for VFF’s operations in empowering the football teams. The strategic agreement also opens up an avenue for mutually-beneficial collaboration, with specific strategies to elevate Vietnam’s football on the global stage.

“Sharing the delight of Vietnamese and, importantly the World Cup dream, this partnership with VFF is an important step by Coca-Cola in providing support to the national teams on the road to success,” Mr. Sanket Ray, CEO of Coca-Cola Vietnam, told the signing ceremony. “Through realistic actions, we can help set bigger targets and greater ambitions.”

“Alongside the partnership is a very special gift specifically for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup - a limited edition can collection with Vietnam FIFA World Cup packaging,” said Mr. Hiroshi Kanazawa, General Manager of Coca-Cola Indochina. “We would like to inspire communities to keep believing and continue their support, since yours is the strongest fire to light up the World Cup dream.”

Coca-Cola’s 2018 FIFA World Cup special edition consists of eight beautiful designs typical of world-class football teams such as Germany, France, Russia, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina and Japan. Most specially, only in Vietnam, fans will be offered unique packaging, called Vietnam FIFA World Cup, together with colorful, appealing giveaways.
