BlueScope Zacs, in collaboration with local dealers, has launched the “Manh ghep yeu thuong” (Affectionate Pieces) community program, to donate steady and durable roofing to the underprivileged in eight localities in Vietnam.

This year, under the theme “Lop mai nhung uoc mo”, nearly 300 roofs will be provided to underprivileged households. The program is a shared dedicated effort by BlueScope Zacs’ employees, local dealers, contractors, and local authorities, with the desire to help alleviate local residents’ difficulties and encourage them to strive towards a better life.

The donated BlueScope Zacs®+ roofs are made with INOKTM technology and are manufactured on a modern production line, complying with domestic and international standards to deliver outstanding, high-quality products. INOKTM technology forms the microstructure, with a four-layer matrix of protective compounds, proactively preventing corrosion, especially at cutting edges, screw holes, and scratches, and is more superior than the current aluminum-zinc coatings alloy-coated technology.

Apart from INOKTM technology, BlueScopeZacs®+ also applies other advanced technologies such as ECO-COOLTM solar reflectance technology, G-TECHTM technology to add texture on the roof surface, and the new GEN III painting technology to give the roof long-lasting color.

In a spirit of solidarity, the “Manh ghep yeu thuong” 2019 project aims at sheltering the underprivileged with beautiful, durable BlueScope Zacs®+ roofs made with INOKTM technology that give long-lasting protection against corrosion, minimizing the risk of roofs collapsing or blowing off during storms.

“Extreme weather events are a major obstacle to households’ working and living conditions,” said Mr. Vo Minh Nhut, Country President of NS BlueScope Vietnam. “We sympathize with the difficulties of local residents and wish to contribute to stabilizing their accommodation as well as improving their quality of life by offering beautiful, durable roofs. The donated BlueScope Zacs®+ INOKTM technology roofs, with a four-layer matrix of protective compounds and Inox-like anti-rust ability, will make local people feel assured during the wet season.”

In Vietnam, NS BlueScope has initiated a wide range of meaningful CSR programs in environmental protection, sustainability, and community contribution, of which “Run For Green”, planting trees to make Long Son Primary School greener, and the “Labor hygiene safety awareness and sharing program” are typical examples.

As a member of the 50:50 joint venture between two industry leaders - BlueScope Steel Limited, an Australian company with over 100 years of experience, and Japan’s Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation - NS BlueScope Vietnam is now operating three factories, in Phu My, Bien Hoa and Hanoi, providing the market with 156,000 tons of high-quality coated steel for major construction projects, hi-tech agricultural solutions, small and medium-sized factories, and civil buildings via BlueScope’s global brands of Colorbond®, Zincalume®, Lysaght®, and BlueScope Zacs®.

Incorporating the group’s more than 50 years of experience in Asia, NS BlueScope Vietnam is synonymous with high quality and pioneering and optimized solutions that contribute to iconic buildings nationwide, of which Vietnam’s tallest skyscraper Landmark 81, the Vinfast factory, and the Truong Hai Automobile factory are typical examples.
