AccorHotels has signed a new three-year sponsorship deal with Tennis Australia that allows it offer attendance at the Australian Open to VIPs, the media, and special guests. The group previously signed a deal to sponsor the 2018 Open, held last January.

“We are so excited to continue our relationship with the Australian Open as it remains one of the most watched tennis events in the world, so it was a simple decision for us to extend this valuable partnership,” said Mr. Michael Issenberg, Chairman and CEO of the AccorHotels Asia Pacific.

The multi-million-dollar deal means that AccorHotels, as an official partner of the Australian Open, will have access to tickets for VIPs, the media and LeClub AccorHotels loyalty members, as well as opportunities to provide behind-the-scenes tours, trophy appearances at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, speaking engagements with former players, and branding activities. AccorHotels will also invest in a multi-platform advertising campaign to maximize opportunities both in the lead-up to and during the tournament.

“As the largest hotel operator in Australia, AccorHotels is always looking for ways to champion tourism to this beautiful country and the Australian Open is truly one of the most outstanding sporting events in the world, with over a billion viewers on television and around 750,000 people through the gates, so it’s the perfect vehicle to help put Australia under the global spotlight,” Mr. Issenberg added.

AccorHotels also invited tennis great Serena Williams to be its Official Ambassador in Australia during the January Grand Slam event, which is one of the four most important tournaments in the world.

Accor Hotels is a world-leading travel and lifestyle group and digital innovator offering rich experiences in more than 4,500 hotels, resorts, and residences in 100 countries and territories.
