Intimex Vietnam, a subsidiary of the BRG Group, held a breaking ground ceremony on January 17 for the construction of the six-star Four Seasons Hanoi hotel near the capital’s famed Hoan Kiem Lake.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang, PR Manager at BRG Group, confirmed with VET that construction had begun but didn’t reveal a completion date or the project’s investment capital. Located at 22-32 Le Thai To Street, the new hotel will feature 100 high-end rooms.

“We wish to build a hotel with impressive architecture for the city,” said BRG Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Nga. “Accompanying Canada’s Four Seasons - the world’s leading hotel management group - we believe the hotel will become a new symbol of Hanoi.”

The Hanoi People’s Committee previously asked that construction fully comply with regulations on planning and conservation and be in keeping with local landscapes and architecture.

Project design received consultation from a foreign designer, the WATG Singapore Company, and a local designer, the IBSTAC Design Consulting Services JSC.

In 2009 the BRG Group secured 11.59 per cent of Intimex and in late 2015 surprised the financial market by acquiring 34.3 per cent of the company through the Kings’ Valley Limited Company, a member of the Group. After the acquisition, Kings’ Valley became the strategic partner of Intimex.

BRG is also known for the construction planning of urban areas, with a highlight being the financial, trade and urban complex capped off with a 108-storey tower along the Nhat Tan-Noi Bai Highway (also known as Vo Nguyen Giap Highway) in Hanoi.

It is also the investor of many other real estate projects, including the high-end Oriental Tower office block in Hanoi’s Dong Da district and the Oriental Palace apartment block in the capital’s Tay Ho district.
