The Unicons Investment Construction Co., a member of the Coteccons Group, last week held a breaking ground ceremony for the Q2 Thao Dien residential and commercial mixed development project in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 2, developed by the G Homes House Development JSC.

G Homes House Development, a joint venture between Singaporean developer Frasers Property and Vietnamese developer the An Duong Thao Dien Real Estate Investment JSC, was established to develop the project.

Frasers Property has had a presence in Vietnam since 1995, with a portfolio comprising commercial and hospitality properties in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. By tapping Frasers Property’s extensive multi-asset expertise and solid track record in property development, Q2 Thao Dien is viewed as a well-designed project of international standard that will exceed the expectations of customers.

The project’s facilities are designed to deliver lifestyle, well-being, safety and security benefits to its future residents while offering convenient access to essential amenities, education, and transport.

“The highlights of the project are its favorable location in the center of up-and-coming Thao Dien ward, the innovative architectural capabilities of Singapore’s leading consulting team, and wonderful features such as unblocked panoramic views of the Saigon River,” said Mr. Nguyen Gia Bao, Chairman of An Duong Thao Dien. “We hope that Q2 Thao Dien will be completed smoothly and be ready for occupation as planned. We are committed to providing residents with quality and outstanding features at the new development.”

Unicons is the main contractor undertaking the contract worth about $51.5 million, with completion targeted for the end of 2020. It is a core member of the Coteccons Group, a leading private construction enterprise in Vietnam. The Group has built its reputation on completing many major projects in Vietnam, including Landmark 81 in Ho Chi Minh City - the highest building in Southeast Asia.

“Unicons takes after Coteccons’ professional methods and has experience in implementing many projects worth more than $43 million, similar to Q2 Thao Dien,” said Mr. Nguyen Sy Cong, General Director of Coteccons. “With our talented engineering team, Unicons will certainly level up the project in terms of quality, safety and professionalism.”

The successful construction and completion of Q2 Thao Dien may also create opportunities for long-term business cooperation between Frasers Property, An Duong Thao Dien, and the Coteccons Group in the future.
