The FLC Group’s FLC Ha Long Ecotourism Resort officially opened on December 15 with total investment of nearly VND10 trillion ($429 million).

On an area of nearly 200 ha, the resort includes more than 30 items of international standard, with 649 hotel rooms accommodating more than 1,500 guests, more than 300 European-style villas, an international convention center, a golf course and club house, and an infinity pool.

This is another project FLC has built on difficult terrain, such as the marshes of Sam Son and sand in Quy Nhon and Quang Binh.

The challenge at FLC Ha Long has been building on steep hills with underground rocks and coal seams. Staff have had to think of construction solutions and measures to protect against erosion and minimize the project’s impact on nearby communities.

FLC Ha Long will welcome thousands of guests to a number of important events, such as the closing ceremony of the 2018 National Tourism Year, the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019 (ATF), and Travex Fair, in January.

Mr. Ngo Hoai Chung, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), told the opening ceremony that the opening of the FLC Ha Long Ecotourism Resort together with the UN World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay makes tourism in Quang Ninh in particular and Vietnam in general more attractive. “The launch of FLC Ha Long once again affirms the FLC Group’s commitment to a strategic direction in investing in high-end tourism products,” he said.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Long, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, expressed his excitement that the province has added yet another tourism project. “FLC Ha Long offers a 1,500-seat international conference center, which has been very much in need, while the FLC Ha Long golf course is also a great addition,” he said.

Quang Ninh has welcomed more than 10 million visitors this year, including more than 5 million foreign guests. A range of infrastructure has been built in recent times, such as Van Don International Airport, Ha Long International Passenger Terminal, and the Ha Long - Van Don Expressway, creating a driving force for economic development in Vietnam’s north.
