The PropertyGuru Icon Award 2019 was presented to Mr. Chen Lian Pang, CEO of CapitaLand Vietnam, while the Best Office Development in Asia was awarded to Capital Place in Hanoi, on November 22 at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards 2019.

This prestigious award honors Mr. Chen’s leadership and continuous contribution to Vietnam’s urbanization with a 25-year track record of award-winning developments, community-building, and corporate social responsibility.

“This is not my own achievement but also from the efforts of those who have supported me over my career in real estate, especially management, colleagues, and staff at CapitaLand, who have shared the same vision as I have”, said Mr. Chen Lian Pang after receiving the award.

The PropertyGuru Icon Award was one of the highest honors presented at the regional PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final held recently. Chosen by the editors of the PropertyGuru Property Report magazine and endorsed by the PropertyGuru Executive Leadership Team, the PropertyGuru Icon Award is given to a former winner of the local Real Estate Personality of the Year Award who deserves further recognition.

The selected recipient must have introduced new innovation and participated in a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative since winning his or her Real Estate Personality of the Year title and be newsworthy across the Asia-Pacific region.

Mr. Chen Lian Pang was considered due to his many achievements since being named Vietnam Real Estate Personality of the Year in 2016, including leading the company to win two consecutive Best Developer titles in 2017 and 2018 and the Best Hospitality Developer in 2019.

He continues to contribute to Vietnam’s urbanization, with award-winning developments, community-building, and public facilities; promoting various corporate social responsibility programs through CapitaLand Hope Foundation’s initiatives in Vietnam, such as “The Steps Challenge 2019” to support children with autism; and being one of the most active real estate leaders in the region with 30 years’ experience in Malaysia, Taiwan (China), Vietnam, China, Thailand, and Singapore.

At the prestigious PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards 2019, Capital Place, developed by CapitaLand Vietnam, won “Best Office Development” in Asia. Capital Place is the first office development in Hanoi slated to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the United States Green Building Council, with its emphasis on sustainability for the design, construction, and operation of the building.

The international Grade A office complex will offer a sprawling 121,000 sq m of gross floor area across two 37-story office towers when completed in the third quarter of next year. It caters to tenants’ myriad needs with a column-free floorplate averaging more than 1,550 sq m - the largest in Vietnam, raised floors with a 2.7-meter clear floor height, and knock-out panels on every floor to accommodate different tenant space requirements.
