Funds come for Tien Sa Port upgrade and expansion

Central Da Nang city’s Investment and Development Fund has agreed to provide a $7.9 million loan to the Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company to upgrade and expand Tien Sa Port. Director of the port, Mr. Nguyen Huu Sia, said that the 13-year loan would fund the building of an international standard logistics center. The loan is only 20 per cent of the investment capital ($49.3 million) needed to complete upgrades to the port over the next two years.

November 6 debut on HoSE for Vincom Retail

Vincom Retail, the retail arm of real estate conglomerate Vingroup, will debut on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) on November 6. Coded VRE, it will trade more than 1.9 billion shares on the southern bourse at an opening price of VND33,800 ($1.5) per share. The price has a movement range of 20 per cent on the first day of trading.

Yakin Group to build Can Tho road

South Korea’s Yakin Group (YK) plans to spend nearly VND15.1 trillion ($714 million) building a new road in Can Tho city under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) form that will be named National Highway No. 91C. The 30-km road includes nine intersections and 25 bridges and will be developed in two phases, YK Group President Jang Sang Kyu told Can Tho city’s leaders on October 31.

Casino gamblers must prove monthly income

Vietnamese citizens wanting to enter casinos under a new rule effective early next month must prove they earn regular monthly incomes of at least VND10 million ($440). The regulation is included in the Ministry of Finance’s Circular No. 102/2017/TT-BTC guiding the implementation of Government Decree No. 03/2017/ND-CP on the casino business, which came into force on March 15.

New logo for Hoa Phat

The Hoa Phat Group has officially launched a new brand identity, in which the most important feature is a new, strong and more dynamic logo, with the philosophy of “Harmony along with development” as a guideline. The brand identity was introduced to improve its image and prestige.

Trips to Son Doong on offer

Tour operator Oxalis, the only travel company permitted to organize tours to famous Son Doong Cave in central Quang Binh province, has officially opened sales to explore the world’s largest cave in 2018, with trips of four days and three nights. The company is offering 460 slots in the first sale. Quang Binh province will only allow a maximum of 900 visitors to set foot in Son Doong next year.

PM approves climate change and green growth program

The Prime Minister has approved the National Target Program for Climate Change Response and Green Growth for the 2016-2020 period. Thirty transitional projects in Document No. 1443/TTg-QHQT dated September 19, 2012 from the Prime Minister and 42 projects on mangrove afforestation in the Prime Minister’s Document No. 78/TTg-QHQT dated January 16, 2015, as well as a number of priority projects, are expected to be completed by 2020.
