DHL opens Binh Duong service center

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has opened its new DHL Service Center in Thu Dau Mot town in southern Binh Duong province. Located in one of the fastest-growing economic industrial zones in the south and near Ho Chi Minh City, the $700,000 center is the latest investment from DHL Express in Vietnam, further bolstering the company’s network in the country.

Novaland launches Victoria Village in HCMC

The Novaland Group has launched its Victoria Village project in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 2. Located on Mai Chi Tho Boulevard, Victoria Village is a housing complex with condos, villas, and houses. An introductory event for the villas will be organized on January 21. There will be four apartment blocks with 25 floors and a total of 900 condos of one to three bedrooms designed in a European style.


Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum on way in Hanoi

The 26th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-26) will be held in Hanoi from January 18 to 21 with the theme “Parliamentary Partnership for Peace, Innovation and Sustainable Development”. The event is expected to contribute to enhancing bilateral relations between the National Assembly (NA) and the parliaments of other countries, while affirming the prestige of the NA at regional and global inter-parliamentary forums.

New trains for North-South route

The Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR) has recently put six new third-generation trains into operation along the North-South railway line, with the goal of improving quality to best serve travel demand. The new-generation carriages are made from top-line materials and equipped with the essential comforts needed for the long journey.


Dien Bien holding cherry blossom festival

Dao Hoa (Flora Peninsula) in the northwestern province of Dien Bien has welcomed thousands of cherry blossom lovers from January 6 to 8 to admire beds of sakura during the cherry blossom festival. Thanks to its weather conditions, including temperature differences of at least 10C between day and night, as well as being located at an altitude of over 1,000 meters above sea level, Dien Bien resembles the mile-long sakura parks in Hakone, Japan, overlooking Mount Fuji.


Vietnam among leaders in wages growth

Vietnam, India, and China will be the leading countries in terms of wage growth this year, according to a survey conducted by Korn Ferry, while Japan, the US, and Europe will see the opposite. The survey touched on 20 million people in 25,000 companies around the world, with the real wages of those in Asia increasing 2.8 per cent this year, adjusted for inflation.


Calls for E5 to be much cheaper that RON 95

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade has proposed widening the price difference between RON 95 gasoline and E5 RON 92 bio-fuel to VND1,500-2,000 per liter to make the latter more attractive to users. There should be multiple solutions adopted to promoting the use of E5, a mixture of 95 per cent RON 92 gasoline and 5 per cent ethanol.
