Viettel IDC introduced the cloud computing server HPE - ProLiant Gen10 on September 13 in Hanoi.

“Via private cloud, which is developed on the HPE - ProLiant Gen10 server, Viettel IDC wants to provide more choice for customers and better adapt to their needs,” said Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of Viettel IDC. Gen10 Servers are said to be a crucial solution in infrastructure modernization, accelerating business insight across a hybrid world of traditional IT, public, and private cloud.

HPE - Proliant Gen10 is one of the most secure servers in the world and possesses many advantages in security and information processing. From September 15 to October 30, Viettel IDC will present an iPhone 8 to the first ten customers using its private cloud based on HPE - ProLiant Gen10.

Viettel IDC is the only Enterprise Service Provider of VMWare. In June, the company awarded it an Enterprise Levelled Partner certificate, the highest for cloud providers and one of most prestigious in the virtualization sector.

Vietnam recorded the fastest growth among ASEAN countries in cloud computing spending in the 2010-2016 period, according to recent research by Dr. Vu Minh Khuong, Associate Professor at the Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. Though public cloud is the majority, in the future, private cloud will develop faster and is expected to surpass public cloud.

Customers often begin to use public cloud when they have a small amount of data, but as this becomes larger they need more security and then tend to move to private cloud. When public cloud and private cloud are mixed, it is known as hybrid cloud.

Having operated public cloud since 2013 and private and hybrid cloud since the beginning of this year, Viettel IDC’s revenue from public cloud naturally remains higher. Growth in private cloud is, however, as fast as in public cloud. Viettel IDC forecasts that, by 2020, growth in private cloud will surpass growth in public cloud.
