The Vietnam Motor Show 2017 (VMS 2017) will be held from August 1 to 5 in Ho Chi Minh City.

With the participation of 12 brands from ten members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), it will be the biggest event in the country’s automobile industry this year.

The Vietnam International Automobile Exhibition (VIMS) organized last year by a group of genuine importers was the largest event in the industry.

According to VAMA, the organizer of the event, this year’s exhibition will focus on the theme of connecting technology and intelligent movement. Car manufacturers promise to bring to Vietnam a number of new models equipped with the latest global technology in the industry.

Twelve brands have been officially registered at VMS 2017 to date: Chevrolet, Ford, Do Thanh, FUSO, Honda, Isuzu, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Suzuki, and Toyota.

Two Truong Hai brands, Mazda and Kia, will not appear at this year’s event. VMS 2017 will, however, welcome the return of the only luxury brand with a factory in Vietnam, Mercedes-Benz, and Nissan, which has the strongest growth rate in the country.

VMS 2017 takes place in the context of falling vehicles sales in Vietnam, primarily caused by customers waiting for upcoming tax reductions.

The organizer said that in addition to introducing the latest models, promotions will also be held.

“With models boasting new technology and many promotions, we expect VMS 2017 to boost Vietnam’s car market towards the year-end,” said Mr. Toru Kinoshita, Chairman of VAMA.
