Vietjet Air was recently honored at the M&A Awards 2016-2017 as “The IPO Deal of the Year 2017” and “The Company with the Best M&A Information Disclosure”.

The M&A Awards are held within the Vietnam M&A Forum 2017, an annual event for companies and investors from Vietnam and other countries, held in Ho Chi Minh City on August 10 under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

The awards were voted on and judged by independent and renowned M&A experts through nominations from consultant organizations and researchers.

Vietjet was highly graded by the judging panel in being named “The IPO Deal of the Year 2017” and “The Company with the Best M&A Information Disclosure”. Its IPO was professionally conducted with consultation from world-renowned law firms and financial institutions in around 800 days, following the international Regulation S IPO standards.

Vietjet listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) on February 28. Its capitalization stood at VND27 trillion ($1.2 billion), accounting for 1.5 per cent of HoSE’s total capitalization, as at February 15.

The carrier joined the ranks of the VN 30, Vietnam’s largest publicly-traded companies in terms of market capitalization.

The judging panel also lauded the airline for its information disclosure. Vietjet has done a good job building investor relations, attracting investment funds and the public, and providing transparent, detailed, and international-standard information to investors and the public.

Earlier, Vietjet’s 2016 annual report was honored with a Platinum Award at the Vision Awards 2016 held by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP), ranking it fourth in the Asia-Pacific and eleventh worldwide. Entitled “The Flight to the Future”, the 150-page annual report was mostly graded with top scores under the criteria for First Impression, Letter to Shareholders, Report Financials, and sustainable development programs.

Headquartered in the US, LACP creates a forum within the public relations industry that facilitates discussions of best-in-class practices within the profession while also recognizing those who demonstrate exemplary communications capabilities. The Vision Awards honors outstanding and informative annual reports globally following international standards.
