Local online travel agent using marketing technology provider's solutions to boost ad campaigns.

Criteo S.A., an advertising platform for the open internet, announced on September 6 a partnership with Tugo.com.vn, a Vietnam-based travel startup that specializes in organizing tours to Asia-Pacific, Europe and the US. This represents Criteo’s first strategic travel partnership in Asia.

To meet growth in travel demand from Vietnamese consumers, Tugo sought a partner that could help it be a travel agent of choice. It turned to Criteo’s Dynamic Retargeting solutions to boost its ad campaigns and to provide a seamless travel booking experience. Powered by machine-learning, the solutions allowed Tugo to deliver the right ad at the right moment in a user’s travel booking journey. This was done by analyzing online browsing patterns and travelers’ preferences.

“As more Vietnamese consumers make their travel bookings online, it is imperative for travel operators like Tugo to personalize the pre-travel experience,” said Mr. Alban Villani, General Manager, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, at Criteo. “This gives them a competitive edge in the travel market, especially in the online travel sector. Global online travel agents currently hold 80 per cent of the online travel market share in Vietnam.
