Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV)’s motor car sales (excluding the Lexus) reached 5,131 in the first month of the new year, down a mere 3 per cent against January 2017. Sales in the passenger car segment stood at 3,589 units and the commercial vehicle segment 1,542 units. Many TMV models were among the best-sellers in Vietnam during the month, such as the Vios, Innova, and Corolla Altis.

The Vios held on to its lead in sales in the passenger car segment, with 2,458 units, up 44 per cent year-on-year. The Corolla Altis and Camry also saw good sales, of 684 (up 59 per cent) and 444 (up 19 per cent).

In the commercial vehicle segment, the Innova recorded impressive sales of 1,302 units, an increase of 15 per cent year-on-year and took the lead in the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment. The vehicle has always been on the best-selling list given its suitability for both work and play.

Decree No. 116 took effect on January 1 and has had a considerable effect on imports of completely-built-up (CBU) vehicles into Vietnam. Most brands in Vietnam has been having difficulties importing vehicles into the country. Sales of vehicles distributed by TMV were no exception, with sales of the Fortuner standing at 35 during January, Hilux 130, Yaris three, Prado 56, Land Cruiser 13, and Hiace two.

After impressive growth in sales and service volumes in 2017, TMV has been making major efforts to improve quality in sales and after-sales service in order to continue providing the greatest satisfaction to more and more customers who trust and love the brand. It was honored to be No. 1 in the Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) and No. 1 in the Customer Service Index (CSI), as evaluated by global market researchers J.D. Power.

2018 is forecast to be a year of many challenges and significant changes in the business environment. But TMV constantly strives to bring high quality products and services to go beyond customer expectations. It makes every effort to secure its long-term development while continuing to contribute more to the development of Vietnam’s automobile industry and the country itself.
