The “Top Thai Brands 2018” exhibition has opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7. It features 216 exhibitors showcasing their products across 254 booths in order to offer partnership opportunities for both Vietnamese and Thai businesses.

This year the exhibition is organized by the Thai Trade Center in Ho Chi Minh City on behalf of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand in collaboration with the Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company (Vinexad). The annual Thailand trade fairs have been organized in Vietnam for 16 consecutive years. This year it runs from May 10-13.

The event includes two main parts. The first part takes place over the first two days and is mainly to facilitate business connectivity between the two sides. The second part is open to the public from May 10-13 and gives Vietnamese customers the chance to sample high-quality products and services from Thailand.

The fair offers exceptional opportunities to explore an extensive range of internationally-recognized Thai products and services as well as to discover the business potential in various sectors such as automobile and motorcycle parts and accessories, beauty and health care products, food and beverage, lifestyle, HORECA & household products, pet products, and Thai designer brands and fashion accessories.

“There has been a strong expansion of investment and trade activities of Thai business in Vietnam, and the same for Vietnamese business in Thailand in recent years,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Nga, a representative from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

“The exhibition is expected to present an excellent opportunity for investors, producers, and businesses of both sides to meet and expand their collaborative ties. It also serves as a bridge to strengthen cooperation and the friendly relations between the two countries’ business communities and customers.”

Thai Consul General to Vietnam Ureerat Ratanaprukse said that the official visit of PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc to Thailand last August aided the bilateral ties of the two countries, particularly in economic cooperation. Two-way trade hit $15 billion, while registered investment capital reached $9.3 billion, which shows that Thai businesses trust in Vietnam’s economic growth.

Over the past two years, the Thai Consulate General has organized many activities to connect the businesses of both countries in order to help equip Thai businesses with the requisite knowledge and information to operate in Vietnam while keeping in line with its regulations and laws, she added.

The scope of the fair also covers service sectors such as education, tourism, franchising businesses and food services. Remarkably, the fair this year is expected to bring more enjoyable experiences with its demonstration of top Thai characters and fascinating activities.
