An international seminar on “Fire Safety - Evacuation in Vietnam, and Experiences of Japan”, sponsored by the Tokyo University of Science and Panasonic, was held for the first time in Hanoi on August 16 by the Urban & Architectural Institute and the National University of Civil Engineering, with the attendance of many scientists and experts in Vietnam and Japan.

Panasonic introduced an outstanding fire-prevention material applied in electrical construction materials manufactured at the Panasonic Eco Solutions Vietnam factory. Its sockets and switches made from heat resistant Urea Resin in accordance with relevant IEC standards provide heat deformation protection and self-extinguishing capabilities and a long lifecycle of up to eight to ten years.

Panasonic circuit breakers with highly technical and precise operations also help protect the power system and reduce power consumption. Moreover, Panasonic smoke detectors work effectively, with easy installation and use with a ten-year battery life, which improves alerts and early extinguishes the risks of fire and explosions.

“As one of four key business pillars of Panasonic, including Consumer Electronics, Housing, Automotive and B2B, we have continuously strived to offer solutions for housing and electrical home appliances to create a comfortable life while reducing the environmental burden by using our accumulated technology and cutting-edge energy management technology,” said Mr. Kazuki Shirota, General Director of Panasonic Eco Solutions Vietnam.

According to the General Statistics Office, there were 2,091 fires and explosions nationwide in the first six months of this year with increasing scale and complexity, especially in urban areas and big cities, causing serious damage to people and property and affecting people’s lives. This is due to rapid urbanization, escalated scales and areas of constructions, along with an increase in population and numbers of combustible materials being frequently used. Awareness of fire prevention and fighting is still limited in terms of complying with the law and the selection of safe electrical equipment.

In the circumstances, the international seminar was an opportunity for experts, individuals and organizations in the field of architecture and construction to share practical experiences and solutions in fire safety and evacuation.

As a leading Japanese manufacturer, Panasonic has always focused on researching and developing new technologies, providing advanced products and solutions, bringing a modern, comfortable and especially safe life to consumers.

From July to November, it is organizing a series of workshops on electrical safety and new product introductions for 2,000 electrical engineers that are partners of Panasonic Eco Solutions Vietnam. The program aims to update knowledge and provide new skills to help electrical engineers improve electrical safety in construction and installation as well as guide electricity users on proactively ensuring safety for themselves, their families and the community.
