Panasonic Eco Solutions Vietnam (PESVN) has officially opened an expanded wiring device and circuit breaker factory in southern Binh Duong province, representing a milestone in Panasonic’s development in Vietnam.

An additional factory was built with the aim of doubling Panasonic’s production capacity of wiring devices and circuit breakers in FY 2020, which enhances its responsiveness to the rapid increase in demand for these products in Vietnam over recent years.

The new factory was built on a 3,000 sq m site adjacent to the existing factory, which produces approximately 53 million wiring devices and 13 million circuit breakers annually.

“With our mission of making ‘A better life, A better world’ and contributing further to the development of Vietnam, the inauguration of the factory expresses our commitment to developing Japanese-quality ‘Made in Vietnam, Make for Vietnam’ products,” said Mr. Masaaki Kobayashi, General Director of Panasonic Vietnam.

With the addition of the new factory and further expansion plans, the factory aims to supply wiring devices and circuit breakers to local markets and Southeast Asian countries.

The inauguration is also expected to provide economic and social development and create more jobs. The facility aims to provide high-tech products that cater to local and regional needs. Local employees will also be trained and equipped with manufacturing expertise and technological know-how.

“As a brand built upon 100 years of reliability, Panasonic will continue to expand our business in different fields, invest in R&D activities, develop leading technologies, solutions and products, enhance customer services, as well as contribute to society through different educational and environmental projects in Vietnam,” Mr. Kobayashi added.

Panasonic Vietnam is the first 100 per cent foreign-invested company to have a country headquarters in Vietnam. The Panasonic Vietnam Group comprises Panasonic Industrial Devices Vietnam (PIDVN), Panasonic System Networks Vietnam (PSNV), Panasonic Appliances Vietnam (PAPVN), Panasonic AVC Networks Vietnam (PAVCV), and PESVN, together with the Panasonic Research & Development Center Vietnam (PRDCV).

The Group currently employs a total workforce of about 8,000 people. In Vietnam, Panasonic is among those enterprises that place great emphasis on social activities surrounding education and the environment.
