Two sign partnership to provide assistance to startups in IT sector.
Microsoft Vietnam and the Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB) have signed a strategic partnership on supporting, training, consulting and implementing startup projects in the information technology sector.
The two will train the creative community and the startup community. Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, Secretary General of the Ho Chi Minh City Information Technology Association, said they will try to support about 100-200 technology startups and will build and develop mentors in the sector and connect startups with small and medium-sized technology enterprises and universities.
“We will also advertise creative startups and build a startup culture,” he said.
The cooperation will also support startups in approaching modern technology tools and provide opportunities for startups to take part in effective training courses, according to Mr. Vu Minh Tri, General Manager of Microsoft Vietnam. Startups will therefore be able to link together and improve their operational capacity.
SIHUB was launched on August 5, 2016, with the target of developing a startup community and promoting innovation to make Ho Chi Minh City a startup city.
It is sponsored by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Australian Government, and a number of organizations and individuals.
