JupViec.vn, a platform connecting the needs of domestic workers and customers via mobile phone apps, has obtained financing from American investment fund Patamar Capital.

Mr. Phan Hong Minh, CEO of JupViec.vn, told VET that with the new capital it will focus on enhancing technology, in particular human resources for tech teams, develop in large cities and provinces, and add other services such as laundry and water and electricity system repairs.

Ms. Do Hong Yen from the Patamar Investment Fund said that JupViec.vn’s development will improve the quality of life of women who work as domestic helpers and at the same time help change society’s view of an occupation that is very necessary but often underestimated. “While working with JupViec to reach the decision on investment, I was persuaded by the business indicators, the market potential, and the dedication of the JupViec team in their mission to improve the life of Vietnamese women,” she added.

Beginning operations in 2012, JupViec.vn provides domestic help services, including hourly help, daily help, and post-construction industrial cleaning, in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

It was the first player in the sector to receive investment, from Japanese investment fund CyberAgent Ventures, in 2015.

JupViec.vn is seen as having fundamentally changed the traditional domestic worker industry. Each family used to pay a large amount of money, including salary and bonuses as well as provide accommodation, clothing and a travel allowance for their helpers, but still found it hard to find and retain a suitable person.

By applying modern technologies in the recruitment, training and management of workers, JupViec has created a new model of technology-based hourly domestic help, which has helped resolve most of the problems for employing families by providing workers who have been screened and trained to meet certain standards.

Thanks to this technology-based model, a large number of families have found helpers and many working women have found part-time jobs and earned additional income during their free time.

JupViec.vn is currently serving customers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, creating over 2 million working hours each year for more than 3,000 workers.
