Twelve Israeli businesses sought agricultural investment opportunities with the FLC Group during a visit to the company by the Israeli Commercial Counsellor to Vietnam, Mr. Yaniv Tessal, on November 8.

Possessing advanced technologies, the Israeli businesses hope to promote cooperation in fields such as project investment, technology transfer, farm construction, product supply, and high technology in agricultural production.

Mr. Tessal said the FLC Group and Israeli companies are certain to have more opportunities to cooperate more closely in the near future. “I think we have the same vision, of creating safer, better agricultural products and bringing innovative and intelligent solutions to Vietnam’s agriculture sector,” he added.

Ms. Bui Hai Huyen, Deputy General Director of the FLC Group and General Director of the FLC FAM Production and Import-Export JSC, said the modern technology found in Israel combined with the investment orientation of FLC FAM is expected to contribute to the optimal exploitation of the available potential of Vietnam’s agriculture sector, thereby increasing production value and bringing benefits to both sides by building a prestigious brand in the domestic and international agriculture sectors.

According to FLC, the area of agricultural land in Vietnam currently stands at 27 million ha, accounting for over 80 per cent of the country’s total land area. Agricultural land is still not being used efficiently, however, due to lack of high technology, proper planning, or high value products. “FLC FAM always seeks to cooperate in investment and receive advanced technology from modern agricultural countries such as Israel to boost Vietnam’s agricultural products in the international market,” said Mr. Bui Dinh Hieu, Deputy General Director of FLC FAM.

Among the 12 businesses are many leading agricultural businesses in Israel, such as ICL Specialty Fertilizers (fertilizer and chemicals), NaanDanJain Irrigation (irrigation), Netafim (irrigation), Danziger (seed and flower growing technology), the Avocado Asia Company (avocado plantation), and others.

The FLC Group owns 100 per cent of the H.A.I Agrochem JSC, which has been producing fertilizers and pesticides for 30 years, while many Israeli companies look forward to cooperation in this field to expand their distribution systems.

Owning five large-scale farms in the provinces of Vinh Phuc, Binh Dinh, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and An Giang, FLC FAM plans to build a modern agro-processing plant that will meet export requirements in 2019. By 2020, the company aims to own 40,000 ha of farmland and produce 3.5 million tonnes of products.
